This is where I go when I need food it’s late and I don’t want to cook. The staff is friendly and efficient. The drinks are good value and there’s plenty of space to accommodate the crowd

Boss Hawgs is a funky dark bar near/in the Gateway area of Portland. My buddy loves it here. I’m in the 3 to 4 star zone for them. We get the cheesesteaks and they are packed with beef (sirloin, I believe) and onions and peppers if you’d like um. They come with fries which are very good. It’s a lot of food at a good price. The quality is inconsistent and really depends on who is running the kitchen when you go in. The drinks are priced well and there’s booths, tables and a kinda odd outside area. It’s a touch sketchy here (has a lot to do with this area - being on a major thoroughfare) but it’s worth going to now and then.

This is one of my favorite, Portland dive bars. The menu is surprisingly extensive. The entire menu, breakfast, lunch and dinner is always available. The regulars are mostly friendly. The bar tenders are awesome. Most have worked here for a long time. It feels good to support a bar that treats their staff we all. The food is tasty and the drinks are generous.

Friendly staff and regulars. Plenty of space between tables. Multiple TVs, poker machines and everything cleaned consistently. Solid menu! Parking has been a breeze and it's close to Gateway! Beer menu is on point as well. With beautiful stouts and your traditional domestics pepper the menu. I couldn't have made a better choice for a little time away from home.

Came in had a burger and it was delicious. The cook today knows what he's doing. The bartender was attentive and fast. Will definitely return.
